Runner-up: Husqvarna Automower 415X

The Husqvarna Automower 415X is the mower I recommend when reliability matters more than anything else. It uses perimeter wire, which means the install is a pain, but the technology has been proven over twelve years and millions of installations.

One buyer in Florida runs it every five days and reports it "gets through most grass up to about 8in tall." The cut quality is consistent, and the mower rarely throws errors.

The tradeoff is price. At $1,500 or more, the 415X costs 50% more than the Goat O1000, and you still have to bury the wire. But the wire is also the reason it works. There's no satellite visibility requirement, no RTK antenna to position, no 25-satellite minimum. It just works, and it keeps working.

The Segway Navimow H1500 is what you buy when you want wire-free navigation but you have a bigger yard than the Goat O1000 can handle. It uses RTK technology but offers larger map capacities across its model range. The H1500 handles up to 0.4 acres, which covers most residential lots.
